Mulberry Junction Community Garden was bustling with activity on June 8, a cloudy but ideal garden work day, which happened to fittingly fall on National Get Outdoors Day.
The perennial flower beds were weeded, compost was turned and distributed, paths were covered with wood chips, grass was mowed, and more. Gardeners talked about one of the flower beds that has become increasingly shady over the years; should it be turned into a grassy area?
In another part of the garden there was renewed interest in sharing recipes. What do gardeners actually make with all the produce they grow? With all the talk about canning amongst gardeners there is sure to be some canning action this fall (if not sooner).

After a long delayed spring, it is a delight to see Mulberry Junction Community Garden being put to good use once again. Gardeners were cheerful and it was an all around uplifting day!
